I Kill Killers (Book 1), We Kill Killers (Book 2), Final Kill (Book 3) by S.T. Ashman

Narrated by: Brandon T. Campbell, Nikki Thomas (Book 1), Katie Thompson (Books 2 & 3)
My Rating (Overall): ★★★★☆½
Format: Audiobook

If you love psychological thrillers with a fierce, complex female lead, this series needs to be on your radar.

Leah, the main character, is one of those rare narrators who instantly pulls you in. She’s brilliant, guarded, intense, and layered in a way that makes you want to keep digging. And thankfully, across all three books, S.T. Ashman lets you dig — slowly revealing Leah’s traumatic upbringing, motivations, and inner world through a story that’s packed with tension, emotion, and so many twists.

Each book builds on the last with more intensity, more psychological twists, and even deeper emotional punches. The entire series feels like it’s constantly pushing toward a question: how far are you willing to go for justice?

Book 1: I Kill Killers
Narrated by: Brandon T. Campbell & Nikki Thomas
My Rating: ★★★★★

This one absolutely hooked me. It introduces the central theme: vigilante justice, but with a complicated, human twist. The emotional depth of the characters — particularly the protagonist — is surprisingly powerful.  The pacing is tight, the suspense builds naturally, and Leah’s character is just so compelling — strong, flawed, and surprisingly vulnerable. Halfway through, I was sure I had everything figured out… and I was kind of right. But also very wrong. The twisty layers that unfold toward the end completely elevate the entire story and I couldn’t wait to drive right into the second book.

The narration by Brandon T. Campbell and Nikki Thomas is gritty, emotional, and well-paced. Their voices match the dark, urgent tone of the story and bring a strong emotional connection to the characters.

Book 2: We Kill Killers
Narrated by: Brandon T. Campbell & Katie Thompson
My Rating: ★★★★★

This book takes the psychological elements up a notch, and we start seeing just how much Leah’s past continues to influence her choices in the present.

The pacing picks up, and the dual narration continues to serve the story well, even with the change in female voice. By this point, I felt like I was inside the world — completely immersed, sitting in the corners of each scene just watching it all unfold. There’s more FBI involvement, more tension, and more at stake emotionally and morally.

Book 3: Final Kill
Narrated by: Brandon T. Campbell & Katie Thompson
My Rating: ★★★★☆

This was the hardest of the three for me to get through. The pacing slowed down, and there were moments where I found myself wondering, where is this going? It felt drawn out in places (between 30-50% into the book) — but I stuck with it, and I’m so glad I did.

Brandon and Katie once again hold it down with confident, immersive narration that makes every conversation feel like you’re eavesdropping on real people with real pain, power, and secrets.

And the ending? Whew. It landed hard. It surprised me, paid off the buildup, and made me see the whole series in a new light. It’s not always easy to close a thriller trilogy well, but Ashman did it.

Audiobook Performance Highlights:
Narrators: Brandon T. Campbell, Nikki Thomas (Book 1), Katie Thompson (Books 2–3)

Narration Quality: Strong emotional delivery, consistent tone, and natural dialogue
Best Feature: Great voice pairing for dual perspectives
Series Format: High-stakes drama, moral complexity, and excellent character development

Bottom Line:
If you’re into dark thrillers with edge, emotion, and a whole lot of moral gray area — this series hits. The narration is consistently strong, the pacing stays tight, and the emotional moments are just as gripping as the action. A must-listen for fans of gritty crime fiction with heart.
