How to Seal Your Own Fate by Kristen Perrin

My Rating: ★★★½☆ (3.5/5)

Sequels can be tricky, and How to Seal Your Own Fate didn’t quite hit me the same way as the first book — but it still kept me reading.

I was definitely invested. The dual timeline storytelling returned (which I loved again), and once more I found myself more drawn to the past storyline than the present. There’s something about unraveling decades-old secrets that’s just more compelling for me.

That said, this book felt a bit… chaotic. It seemed like it was trying too hard to give every character a twist, and instead of building suspense, it sometimes left me feeling a little lost. I’m all for a mystery that keeps you guessing, but this one flirted with being confusing — not mysterious.

But the ending? Worth it. It wrapped up in a satisfying way that pulled everything together and made me feel like the time I spent untangling the web was well spent. I just wish the middle had flowed a little smoother.

Would I recommend it?
Yes — especially if you enjoyed How to Solve Your Own Murder. Just know this one’s a bit more layered, and you might need to slow down a bit to keep up.

Bottom Line:
Not quite as seamless as book one, but still an enjoyable read with a solid payoff. I’d definitely read a third book in the series.
